Is it time for an alternative to marriage? Peter Tatchell argues that the set-in-stone legal framework of marriage does not take into account the diversity of modern lives. At the same time, with many relationships being just as loyal and enriching as those between people in love, there is no reason to continue restricting legal protection to the latter group.
