Montenegro became independent in 2006 and formally began accession negotiations with the European Union in 2012. LSEE’s Tena Prelec and EUROPP’s Managing Editor Stuart Brown spoke to Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Lukšić, about the country’s efforts to join the European Union and NATO, Montenegro’s future relationship with Russia, and on-going efforts to tackle corruption.
