Book review: from Washington to Moscow: US-Soviet relations and the collapse of the USSR by Louis Sell
[Online resource]
In From Washington to Moscow: US-Soviet Relations and the Collapse of the USSR, Louis Sell traces the history of US-Soviet relations from 1972 up to the latter’s abrupt and unceremonious collapse in 1991. While this well-researched book showcases Sell’s writing talents and gives credit to lesser-known figures of the period, Sell’s modest approach frustratingly prevents the book from offering something truly unique: an insight into the inner workings of US policy towards the USSR, writes April Curtis.
