Friedrich Hayek y sus dos visitas a Chile.
Estudios Públicos,
137, 87-132.
F. A. Hayek visited Chile twice, in 1977 and 1981. Both visits were polemical. On the first trip he met with Augusto Pinochet. This led to some speculations about his influence on the Constitution of 1980. After each visit, Hayek complained that the western press did not provide a fair picture of the economic situation. Drawing on archival material, newspapers, magazines, interviews, and recent research, this essay provides a full account of the circumstances and details of Hayek’s visits to Chile and his influence.
