Engaging London's communities - the 'big society' and 'localism'.
Technical Report.
City of London, London Councils, London, UK.
Prepared for London Councils and the City of London Corporation by Tony Travers of the London School of Economics, this report considers what needs to happen, in terms of partnership between the public sector and community/voluntary organisations, for the government’s two major policy reforms of the Big Society and ‘localism’ to be successful. The research’s main conclusion is that the creation of a new ‘micro’institution such as a community improvement district would significantly support both the Big Society and localism agendas in London.
