Communication and information: towards a prospective research agenda

UNESCO invited the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR)' President, Professor Robin Mansell, to collaborate in convening a workshop at its headquarters in Paris to elaborate a policy-relevant research agenda which can serve as a framework for the elaboration of specific UNESCO research projects. The research framework outlined in this paper highlights key areas where scholarly work is needed to inform policy directions in areas addressed by UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sector.
