Building sustainable knowledge societies: towards a conceptual framework
[Working paper]
(Submitted)
The claim today is that we live in knowledge societies that represent a major departure from the kinds of societies we have lived in the past. In what sense and for whom is this a valid claim? This paper examines some of the arguments that underpin this claim and offers a conceptual framework to encourage critical reflection on the causes and consequences of societies in which digital information plays an increasingly significant role.
