It is no wonder that Cameron insisted on a 3-line whip: the alternatives proposed by the eurosceptics are unconvincing, unrealistic and fail to grasp just how the EU actually works.
David Cameron is on the back foot in the wake of last night’s Commons rebellion over a referendum to leave the EU. But, as Olaf Cramme argues, he was right to hold the line against the eurosceptics. None of their proposals to change the UK’s relationship with the EU would be in Britain’s interest.
