Comment capter le savoir incorporé dans un geste métier du point de vue de l’opérateur?

This paper focuses on the relationship between experts and novices, grounded in research within Electricité De France (EDF), a large electricity industry company. We present a method for capturing the know-how embodied in professional gestures. The final goal is to support annotation, archival, enhancement, update, and transmission of know-how. Our approach is based on a first person view of the operator’s activity, combined with a situated and goal oriented verbalization protocol. We describe our experiments and discuss the problems of digital capture of gestures in industrial context, the solutions we propose and the rationale for the specifications of our system. We provide research directions for implementing these techniques to capitalize professional knowledge. Item available on open access via the publisher website.
