UK Resilience programme evaluation: interim report
With the objective of promoting positive behaviour and well-being, the UK Resilience Programme (UKRP) aims to build the resilience of Year 7 pupils. The curriculum teaches cognitive-behavioural and social problem-solving skills and pupils also learn techniques for positive social behaviour, assertiveness, negotiation, decision-making, and relaxation. This evaluation looked at the efficiency and effectiveness (in quantitative and qualitative terms) of the UKRP as delivered in three Local Authorities. A quantitative analysis of pupils receiving the programme compared to non-participants was carried out. Surveys of teacher and pupil satisfaction also formed part of the evaluation together with qualitative case studies in 10 schools.
