In order to present the relations between the core and peripherial agencies in the 19th century the author has chosen as an example the relations between one national news agency of that time, the Russian Telegraphic Agency (Russkoe telegrafnoe agenstvo), the RTA with its successors, and an international news agency from the last century, the German Wolff (Continental-Telegraphen Compagne), the CTC agency.
