Davos has just started, so Oxfam has put out its annual broadside on global inequality: thoughts and highlights.
Activism, Influence and Change.
Abstract
The annual Davos meeting of the global rich opens today, with Donald Trump’s massive US delegation hogging the headlines, and Oxfam publishing it’s by-now traditional report on inequality. It’s been the highlight of Oxfam’s global advocacy calendar for over a decade, and (along with the work of numerous economists and other activists and organisations) has helped put issues of wealth inequality, wealth taxes, the care economy etc onto the political agenda, in my opinion. Hard to prove attribution of course.
