The role of the public in regulating organoids and embryo models.
British Politics and Policy at LSE.
Abstract
A new technology makes it possible to transform skin cells into stem cells which in turn can develop into human organs, tissue and even embryos. Despite its ability to revolutionise medical research and human reproduction, this technology exists in a regulatory gap. Emily Jackson argues that the legal framework needs to catch up through the consultation of public opinion on the potential benefits and risks of this new technology.
