The COVID-19 pandemic has irrevocably altered the global workplace landscape, catalyzing profound reflections on work-life balance, professional fulfillment, and organizational loyalty (Klotz, 2021). This section provides a theoretical overview and introduces the overarching theme of the post-pandemic redefinition of work purpose, dissecting the emergence of new professional priorities, the quest for meaningful work, and the implications for employees and organizations alike (Tan & Marissa, 2023; Nourkova & Gofman, 2023; Liske et al., 2023). In doing so, we set the stage for a deeper investigation into the evolving dynamics of the workforce.
