Data cooperatives are emerging to empower consumers amidst a fast-changing data governance landscape. But they are not alone, and IT-enabled data marketplaces can be effective competitors. Sameer Mehta, Milind Dawande, and Vijay Mookerjee write that data cooperatives are not indispensable.
