The government’s Online Safety Bill, recently announced in the Queen’s Speech, calls for a new system of regulation for tech companies with the goal of preventing online harms, including disinformation, cyberbullying, extremist content, and advocacy of self-harm. As children are at particularly high risk from some types of harm, Dr Holly Powell-Jones, explains the need to educate young people to know their rights online.
