This study sought to analyse changes in child growth and health during the interwar period in Japan. The underlying dataset is a prefecture-level panel of the mean heights of boys and girls aged 6-17 measured each year from 1929 to 1939. This also contains replication files for "Disease and Child Growth in Industrialising Japan: Critical Windows and the Growth Pattern, 1917-39".
